Today's Action Photo
Today's Action Photo is a picture of Sea World's "Shamu Express", a Southwest Airlines jet painted to look like the famous killer whale. This was taken just as the plane was landing in Austin, Texas, on August 10, 1998 with its landing gear extended as it flies over Lamar Boulevard. It's a little fuzzy because I was handholding the camera, I was using slow film, and I cropped this portion out of a higher-res Photo CD scan to better highlight the plane itself and not the sky around it. Photo taken with a handheld Canon Elan IIe camera, 70-200mm f/2.8L lens, Fuji HG 100 film.
